What is a .apk file?
An .apk file is an Android app installer. Android installs it; nothing else can run it.
Sideloaded APKs bypass the Play Store's checks. Only install ones from the developer's own site.
How to open a .apk file

- Extract the contents, then re-compress as .zip if you need to share them widely.
